Flowing water won't stagnate
It took you years to perfect and it's one of the most remarkable things most of us do each day.
Movement is something humans have done for hundreds of thousands of years, but over the past century new technologies have drastically reduced daily activity.
Lack of physical activity can have comprehensive impacts on health. For example, UK Health and Safety Executive statistics show 34 per cent of working days are lost due to work-related musculoskeletal disorders including back pain.
Moving Well Every Day
Sitting still at desks for long periods can compromise health.
The greatest amount of prolonged sedentary time for the majority of people happens at work while sitting at computers.
Use of sit stand desks can help reduce sedentary behaviour, but this intervention alone is not enough ~ Most employees don't appreciate the deeper benefits or opportunities for movement.
Advice from global health experts consistently points to the need for more frequent bouts of physical activity and light movement throughout the day.
